Paul Michael Levesque (/ləˈvɛk/; born July 27, 1969), better known by the ring name Triple H, is an American business executive and former professional wrestler and actor. Regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, he is currently the Chief Content Officer of WWE.
Levesque began his wrestling career in 1992, debuting in the International Wrestling Federation (IWF) under the ring name Terra Ryzing. In 1995, he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and became known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley, which was later shortened to Triple H. In WWF, he gained fame during the Attitude Era as a member of The Kliq and co-founder of D-Generation X. He is a 14-time world champion in WWE, having won the WWF/WWE Championship nine times and the World Heavyweight Championship five times. He is also a five-time Intercontinental Champion, one-time WWE Tag Team Champion (with Shawn Michaels), and two-time World Tag Team Champion (once each with Michaels and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin), as well as the 1997 King of the Ring winner, 2002 and 2016 Royal Rumble winner, seventh Triple Crown winner, and second Grand Slam winner. He has headlined multiple WWE pay-per-view events, including its flagship annual event WrestleMania seven times (16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, and 32).
Triple H has garnered late-career praise for his behind-the-scenes work at WWE, which includes creating the acclaimed developmental branch NXT, elevating female wrestlers to the level of their male counterparts, and spearheading WWE's international expansion with concepts such as Clash at the Castle and NXT UK. Outside of wrestling, he has dabbled in acting with roles in Blade: Trinity (2004) and The Chaperone (2011). He has three daughters with his wife Stephanie McMahon, the daughter of former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame's 2019 class as part of D-Generation X. After suffering from heart failure in September 2021, which resulted in a 15-hour surgery and required the implementation of an ICD, he announced his retirement in March 2022 before officially retiring from in-ring competition at WrestleMania 38 the following month.
