Cecile Richards (July 15, 1957 – January 20, 2025)[1] was an American pro-choice activist. She was the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund from 2006 to 2018.[2]

Richards was the daughter of former Governor of Texas Ann Richards.[3]

In November 2024, Richards received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Joe Biden at the White House.[4]

Richards was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in mid-2023.[5] She died at home in New York City, on January 20, 2025, at the age of 67.[6]
