Melvyn "Mel" Stride (born 30 September 1961) is a British politician who has been the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer since 2024. He joined the government of Rishi Sunak as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions on 25 October 2022. He later joined the Kemi Badenoch shadow cabinet in November 2024.
