Ossetian (/ɒˈsɛtiən/, /ɒˈsʃən/, /ˈsʃən/),[1][2] commonly referred to as Ossetic and rarely as Ossete[note 1][8] (ирон ӕвзаг, irōn ӕvzag), is an Eastern Iranian language that is spoken mostly in Ossetia.
