On Wikipedia, a short description is a short explanation of what a page is about. Short descriptions are only visible on the mobile website, mobile app, and when using certain gadgets. On the Simple English Wikipedia, these descriptions are taken from Wikidata. A page's short description can only be changed from Wikidata. Unlike the English Wikipedia, the Simple English Wikipedia does not have a working {{short description}} template.
